PREMIERE DANCE NEWSLETTER 

 

Welcome to Premiere Dance’s NEW HOME and another year of DANCE TRAINING AT ITS BEST!   

We are excited and look forward to another year that will be filled with a love of dance, music, movement, fun, and lots of excitement.  All of these will be in concert at our year-end RECITAL June 7, 8, and 9, 2010 at Meadowvale Theatre, Mississauga where each student will be a shining STAR.

BULLETIN BOARDS
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to check the BULLETIN BOARDS at the rear doors for News, Updates, etc. There are two Bulletin Boards - RECREATIONAL and COMPETITIVE.
 
NEWSLETTERS
A “NEWSLETTER” will be issued every three months.  This newsletter will update you on upcoming events, holidays etc.  This will be emailed to all and posted on the Bulletin Boards.  Recreational students will receive a hard copy in class.
 
NEW FOR THIS YEAR
New at Premiere is DRAMA and HIGHLAND dance with a professional staff in these disciplines.  These classes are open to all students, both recreational and competitive.

For the ADULTS “young at heart” we offer HIP HOP and TAP and to keep in shape JAZZERCISE.
 
WASHROOMS
There are 3 washrooms.  MAIN WASHROOM is located in the homework room (first room by back entrance).   There is one in Studio B; another in the basement accessible through Studio F.  The washrooms inside the studios are for students and staff only. 

DROP OFF AND PICK UP OF STUDENTS
Please drop off and pick up your child(ren) at rear entrance.  During the winter months, please leave boots at entrance (mud room).  Please pick up your child within a reasonable time after the end of class.  

CHANGE ROOMS
There are 6 change rooms.  Change rooms are designated for different groups each day.  Please check the signs on the doors.

HOMEWORK ROOM
There is a designated homework room for students to do their homework located by back entrance.  This room can be used as a lunch room.  There is a microwave in this room.  
 
FOOD & DRINKS
There is NO EATING OR DRINKING in any studio or change room.  The HOMEWORK and LUNCHROOM has been designated for homework, eating and drinking.  We ask that students PLEASE CLEAN UP after eating and drinking. Students are NOT to throw liquids into the garbage cans.  They are to empty cans and/or bottles first.  Thank you.

INCLEMENT WEATHER AND STUDIO CLOSURE
Please phone the studio after 2:30pm for a message to see if the studio will be closed due to inclement weather.

USED DANCE SHOE SALE
We are once again doing a DANCE SHOE SALE for used shoes.  If you wish to participate, please put used dance shoes in a ZIP LOCK bag labelled with name, size, and asking price.  Shoes that are not in bags will not be accepted.  Please ensure that the both shoes have your name or initials on them in case they are left outside the proper bag.

If you are interested in BUYING a used pair of dance shoes, please see front office.  Once shoes are sold, the money will be put in an envelope and you will be notified to pick it up.  

If you have dance attire for sale, please post notices on bulletin boards.  

PREMIERE DANCE WARM UP & TRACK SUITS
Premiere Dance Warm-Up and/or Track Suits are MANDATORY for COMPETITIVE students.  Information about orders will be emailed and posted in the very near future.  

MARCH BREAK COMPETITIVE RULE
There will be only ONE WEEK allotted for March Break and that is Monday, March 15 to Sunday, March 21, 2010.  In the past there have been some issues about this and Carla has allotted one week due to the EARLY competition following March break.  ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT MONDAY, MARCH 22 TO THURSDAY, MARCH 25, for we will most likely be competing on March 26th.  NO student will compete if not in class PRIOR to this weekend!!!!!!
